Recession is worldwide, no matter how we try to isolate it, everyone is affected by it one way or another. Now, you wouldn't really want to wait till you're totally broke before you start acting on it right?
But then, if fashion is your passion, and you simply couldn't get yourself to wear the same clothes for a year or so, here are some tips:
1. Buy the off-season clothes
yeah i know it's crazy but it's a whole lot cheaper to buy winter coats when spring is here. and coats are most likely to be the same shape and silhouette year after year anyway so it's okay.
2. Keep a notebook for shopping
when you're dressing up and then you feel like it would look better with brown belt, write it down. so next time when you shop and you have a few cash to spare, you could buy stuff from your list. at least you wouldn't feel guilty about buying stuff on impulse right?
3. Donate clothes or exchange them for something else
it's so difficult to organize your stuff if you have so many things you don't actually wear
4. Buy more expensive tops, buy cheaper bottoms
since people don't really get to see your pants, esp when you're sitting down in a dinner or something, then i'd say it's better to splurge on your blouse.
5. Learn how to sew - normally fabulous outfits start with nice fabrics, and raw materials are cheap + your invaluable sewing skills = voila! a fab outfit. who cares if you suck at sewing, no one's gonna see the insides of your clothes besides you and your washing machine right?
so how about you? what do you do to save up on fashion nowadays
