Unilever Japan's Hairstyle Products for that Runway 2009 Hair

luckily CScouts reports that Unilever Japan has come up with two new products that are specifically-made for different hairstyles such as, "airy bob" a voluminous look and "wave memory" to maintain those curves all-day long.

 

now we got the tools, we gotta see the tricks. ladies, shall we?

1. Get the inspiration

we're no hairstyle experts, so we need the images that we need, here i've collected some hairstyles shown on the runway 2009.

2. Decide the look that you want

of course it depends on where you're going, the occasion and the dress, and mostly it depends on you.if you could handle the attention. now now don't be so shy, you've been in the background for so long, all  girls need some time to shine.

3. Skip the shower

It'll probably help to skip showering a bit. okay not a good idea to tell your date or guests haha. but the thing is, some products are hard to keep on your hair if your hair is too smooth. or if you can't perhaps skip the conditioner.

4. Know the tools

if you're going for a long hair, and you've got short hair, then better prepare the hair extensions the pins and all that.

5. Collect the gadgets

iron curlers in big and small diameter, flat iron and all of these. who says you're never gonna need them right.

6. set-up your work area

if it makes you feel fabulous to have a round of lights around your mirror, then by all means do so. you're fabulous, you work hard, you deserve it.

7. have a dress rehearsal

style your hair at least a few days before the occasion so you have enough time to mess up. and most importantly, to change your mind.

8. when everything's done

don't forget to smile! that's your best accessory. no pouting ladies. mwah!

actually, i'm interested with the new features of this Panasonic Nanocare Platinum Hair Dryer carried by 29 year-old Actress, Yukie Nakama. Beside her in the same picture is TV sports commentator and former Tennis star, Shuzo Matsuoka, 41.

well according to the older version, a panasonice nanocare hair dryer treats youur hair by having moisture content higher than negative ions, keeping your hair glossier and healthier.

Pretty cool huh.

My Kanebo Wishlist

actually this blog goes for  every makeup brand that may sound strange to you. well, lately, i've been wanting to try Kanebo, as i always see them in magazines and japanese girls always look nice so i thought maybe i'll give it a shot.

well, first, here are  my tips on buying new makeup:

1. Do your research

and make some notes on which products you'd be interested in, then verify your assumptions once you see the products firsthand. i don't entirely trust the sales pitch talk that they give me, for all i know, they could be selling me their slow-moving item.

2. Buy stuff you need to expand on

well, generally i have but a small collection so i have to expand on everything. lol. but if you think you're lacking eyeshadows, then maybe you could test out on them first. right now, i'm more into makeup bases and primers coz i want my makeup to last, even the cheap ones so i don't have to constantly reapply them.

3. swatch, swatch and swatch

take note, how many times it takes for you to apply the makeup just so it becomes the same shade as the one on the palette. see if it's paler, a little more on the green side to see if it's well pigmented.

4. Blend the colors together

try to blend them together. it's a plus for me if they could be blended as well with other makeup brands.

5. Buy the smallest amount possible.

i mean, you wanna try it out right. and it's all about light-travelling now so get that smallest pack.

6. Don't experiment on cheap things.

we only have one face ok, so don't expose it to cheap things that you have no idea of. if it's not from a reputable company, the closest it could get is on the back of my hands. lol.

well, anyway, i'm doing my research now on kanebo makeup which has both lunasol and coffret d'or. here are my current picks. will do reviews as soon as i have them.

Katie Holmes Long Hair at Tokyo Valkyries Premiere

so what's all this fuss about katie holmes longer hair at the Tokyo Valkyries premiere. well, it's not so bad, but i like the short hair better...she makes Tom Cruise (sigh!) look old with her new look.

 

and contrary to what people were saying about her short hair, i think she looks like a fresh and carefree mom. right suri?

My Secret Weapon

Tada!!!

No, it's not a set of MAC brushes. But it's local chinese brushes i got from Guangdong Lu in Shanghai. I love love love it. and that place is just filled with all the makeup goodies you could ever dream of. well, anyway, i'll start with one of my most-treasured items from that place. my makeup brushes.

it says Xin Yi Hui on the label. i have no idea, if that's a local brand, a fake one, and imitation, as you know, anything is possible in china. oh well.

it's a makeup brush holder with an adjustable belt strap, so you could put it on your waist. now, i'm no professional makeup artist, and i love doing my friends' faces and so this comes in handy for our slumber parties.

it comes with 18 brushes

 

Face Brushes

Left to Right

1. Tapered Brush - basically i use this for contouring the face, the nice thing about this brushes is that it's firm enough and yet soft to the face. you want a slightly firm brush coz you want it to be able to pick up and hold enough amount of product.

- usually, i use a darker foundation, or a brown eyeshadow to contour my face, to make it chiseled instead of a round pie. lol.

2. Small Round Brush

- i use this for blushes. it's better to build up the amount as you go.

3. Large Round Brush

- this one, i use for powder foundation, for finishing powder etc.

Smaller Brushes

Most of these i just use for different purposes of the eyes, unlike MAC brushes which has numbers, these ones, i only knew them by heart since i use them everyday. i was keen on labeling them, but then i figured it'll look too OC and could scare half of my friends away haha.

Finer Brushes

This brushes, i use mostly for eyeliners. Though i prefer the small angled one, sometimes, i get too lazy to wash them off, then i'd shift to the next brush and so forth. that's when i discovered, which one is good for which.

the pointed one however, i use solely for lipsticks and lipglosses. MAC lipglass is so sticky i wouldn't want to use my fingers to apply it.

The Unused Brushes

These ones, i found them with still the plastic wrapped on them so i figured this ones are the least used. though, i'm not saying is useless ok.

Mascara Brush - i dont need this coz my mascaras all come up with brush wands already

Teeny Weeny Brush - i think this is for eyeliner also, but i'm scared of using it, as it's so small i just might poke my eye with it.

Eyebrow Brush - hardly used, coz i hate my eyebrows anyway, i never pay attention to them.

Actually, there's a pro to buying cheap makeup brushes, if you're new to makeup, for sure you have no idea what you're doing, and you're just playing and so it's better to have a basic, and affordable set to begin with. afterwards, when you're familiar with everything, you could afford nicer ones.

Shisheido Makeup Summer 2009

Here's the latest campaign ads for shisheido 2009. although, earlier this year, Shisheido has released its spring collection already.

The thing with summer makeup is that the look should be more natural. and this look is harder to pull-off than you think so. The skin has to be even, dewy, slightly bronzed if needed. And the thing that i love with all these latest collections are the pale almost nude lipsticks. although i prefer to have them with a bit of gloss. so what are you planning to get from all these summer collections?
