When does something become a fashion faux pas?
here are some of shane's pictures of shibuya recently and she raised a question as to whether it's considered as fashion forward or fashion faux pas.
well, if you can't tell the difference as well, here are some guidelines to help you out.
1. Who
first, who are you gonna meet? of course you would dress differently for your friends than for your boss, or family right?
and also it's a question of who you are. like the ones in the pictures above. i think they're having way too much fun to even reflect on fashion rules.
2. where
is it indoors or outdoors. comfort is your main goal here and at the same time, you don't want to blend in the background, with a green dress on a garden wedding.
3. when
is it night time or day time? if it starts in the afternoon, maybe it'll be better to have something that could switch from day to night.
4. what
what's the occasion? is it going to be a formal or casual affair.
well, technically, i always make sure i dress up regardless of the situation. i feel that its bad manners to be inappropriately dressed when the occasion calls for it. the host would see that you made an effort for her event. and even though some people might just be in jeans, while you're in that gasp! amazing dress, the worse thing that could happen is that you're the best-dressed girl in the room. gosh, do they take pictures of librarians in vogue?
ciao!
